Project Success - A Post-Secondary Preparation and Tuition Assistance Program. Project Success began in 1987 with thirty-five 8th graders (Phase I) of whom most have graduated college and are now living successful lives. Our current phases of Project Success include Phase III, which consists of 100 students who are freshmen, sophomores, juniors and seniors in college and Phase IV which has 56 students (28 fourth graders and 28 ninth graders). Since May 2002, 100% of the Phase III high school seniors have graduated from Atlanta public high schools. Of those 100 graduating students, 61 are currently attending post-secondary institutions. Unfortunately, one of the Project Success students passed away during the summer of 2002 before going to college. Over 78% of these students were Georgia Hope Scholarship eligible (GPA of 3.0 or greater). The components of Project Success are the 100 Academy, Collegiate 100, Family & Youth Empowerment Program, and the 100 Resource Learning Center. Each has been instrumental in raising the level of students' academic performance which has surpassed the Atlanta Public School System |
